How to take care of your Oily Skin

Oily skin is the cause of many common skin conditions from acne to blackheads. Although oily skin can be caused by factors as diverse as heredity, diet and stress, the treatment plan for oily skin is the same, regardless of the cause. Taking care of your oily skin requires only a few minutes each day and can significantly mitigate the negative conditions caused by excessive oil buildup.

Instructions

Wash your face in the morning and evening to remove excess oil. Avoid harsh cleansers and scrubs, as these can stimulate additional oil production.

Wear only oil-free makeup. Applying oil-based products to already oily skin can dramatically worsen the problem.

Avoid overly processed foods , as well as meat and dairy products that contain hormones. Avoid high-fat foods, such as chocolate or fried foods.

Keep cosmetic blotting papers in your purse, bag or car for midday touch-ups. Press the paper firmly onto your skin and allow it to absorb oil, rather than scrubbing or rubbing.

Apply an oil-free moisturizer before bed. By keeping your skin moist with healthy oil-alternatives, you discourage your skin from producing additional oil, particularly during the night.
